Ram Venkat, Resident Director
Ram Venkat is a native of Chennai, India (a city in the south eastern shore) which is just above Srilanka. Ram Venkat has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering and Master’s degree in Computer Science. He is a technologist who specializes in the Information Management and Analytics space and plays key leadership roles for organizations.
Ram Venkat worked for Hewlett-Packard (HP) until recently, where he had the opportunity to travel this great nation extensively – starting from a small town called Aberdeen, WA state (where Kurt Cobain of Nirvana is from) to Atlanta, GA to Boston, MA to the Bay Area. Having seen many neighborhoods and communities, his instincts told him that Brambleton had all of the right things for his family. Now after living in the community since 2008, he can most definitely say that he and his wife are truly happy to be here to raise their almost 3-year-old daughter and 6-month-old son.
Ram was elected to the Brambleton board in November 2015. He is CAI (Community Associations Institute) certified – Board Leadership Development Workshop. He has been attending CAI spring and fall 2015 meetings.
Before being elected to the Board, he served as a resident volunteer on the Covenants Committee. As a Committee member, his responsibilities included regulating the external appearance, use, and upkeep of properties in Brambleton, which helps maintain homeowner values. He also helped to revise the home owner guidelines, offered recommendations on a variety of covenants-related matters, and advised on the same to the Board of Directors. A recent example would be the proposed revisions on landscape borders, cafe lights, and portable basketball equipment, which was adapted to the home owner guidelines by the Brambleton Board of Directors in April 2015.
Ram also volunteers at various community events, including Red, White and Bram and Fall Fest. He also frequently volunteers at DC Central Kitchen in helping to prepare meals for the underprivileged.
