Per VDOT, ALT 3C provides the following: Along RT 50 ALT 3C includes the construction of six through lanes, three interchanges, two auxiliary lanes, and two dedicated lanes with a concrete median for traffic in and out of Dulles Airport. It also includes a frontage road would be included on the north side of US Route 50 in order to maintain access for residents and businesses along this corridor. Along RT 606/LoCo Pway the road is widened to six lanes between Route 50 and where the Dulles Loop widening is expected to terminate on the Airport property.
Per VDOT, ALT 2 provides the following: Four lanes would originate at RT 50 in the location where the Northstar Boulevard is planned. Would connect to the proposed interchange (Interchange not funded by this project) allowing for all movements to and from RT 50 and north of future Northstar Blvd; overpass at Belmont Ridge Road and Evergreen Mills Rd; and an interchange at RT 606 and LoCo Pway. All of these improvements would be limited-access with no direct access to adjoining properties.
